I’ve never met a bookstore I didn’t like. Wandering isles with endless possibilities is always so exciting. Touching the pages of books I’ve never read and stumbling upon a treasure of information or story always fills me with so much hope. Books provide so much of everything.

When I was a child in grade school, I checked out the same book over and over again. I was certain this book could save all my pets if they got injured or sick. While other kids may have been falling in love with stories, I fell in love with the idea that I could learn anything in a book if I read it.

I recently found the out of print book on Ebay and purchased it. What to do Until the Veterinarian Comes now lives on my bookshelf, not because I plan to operate on my dogs, cats, lizard, or chickens but because my heart happily jumped when I recalled how it made me feel back in the beginning of becoming a reader.
